Hobbiton Express - 1 Day Tour

Time: 0700 hours to 1515 hours (approximately)

Cost: $315.00 per person

 Hobbiton, lunch, drink)

This tour is an easy day trip from Auckland. Drive from Auckland through "middle-earth" to the Hobbiton Movie Set from "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" films for a fascinating guided tour. On arrival at Shire's Rest you embark on your Hobbiton movie set tour. This location is the largest "green set" in the world and the only place where you get an emotional response with a movie set in a natural setting. You see 44 hobbit holes including Bilbo's house, "Bag End", the Mill and double arch bridge and the Party Tree. At this stunning location you can take a photo at the door of Bag End, looking out over the whole of Hobbiton to the hills in the distance.The tour concludes with a visit to the Green Dragon Inn where you will enjoy a complimentary ale, cider or ginger beer. After the tour your lunch is included at Shire's Rest Café before heading back to Auckland.

Waitomo Caves and Rotorua - 1 Day Tour

light lunch, Agrodome sheep show, Agrodome farm tour, Te Puia Maori cultural performance, guided tour of Te Puia, evening snack)

Visit the world famous Waitomo limestone formations and cave systems to see the shimmering lights of thousands of tiny glow worms. In Rotorua learn about sheep shearing and farming at the Agrodome sheep and farm show followed by a tour of a working farm. Drive along the foreshore of Lake Rotorua and through the beautiful and historic Government Gardens. At Te Puia enjoy a Maori cultural performance and view boiling mud pools, hot springs and magnificent geysers.



Waiheke Island - 1 Day Tour

Time:   0815 hours to 1730 hours (approximately)
             0800 hours guests to meet in conference hotel lobby

Cost:  $297.00 per person
(includes tour escort, round trip ferry tickets, road transport and driver/guide on Waiheke Island, visits to artists/crafts people, lunch
(casual shared platters for main course followed by dessert), glass of wine with lunch, wine/olive oil/honey tastings)

When Aucklander's talk of an island paradise they are referring to Waiheke Island which is 35 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland. With a permanent population of around 9,000 people Waiheke Island is home to over 30 wineries, along with olive groves and dozens of local and internationally renowned artists. On this picturesque island there is a blend of farmland, forest and stunning beaches. With hot, dry summers and stony soils, Waiheke wineries produce unique, high quality wines based on cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec, cabernet franc and the recent move into chardonnay grape varieties. Visit two artists/crafts people (jewellery and a shoe maker), enjoy free time in Oneroa followed by a  two course casual lunch at a local restaurant. Then on to a vineyard for wine tasting and an olive estate for olive oil and honey tasting. On arrival back in Auckland guests are free to make their own way back to their hotels.

Guided Auckland Sightseeing - Half Day Tour

Auckland is known as the "city of sails" with an estimated one in four families owning a boat of some sort or other. Highlights today will include Auckland harbour bridge, a walk on the beautiful Takapuna Beach, Auckland city centre, Tamaki Drive, great views of Auckland from Bastion Point, morning tea, Auckland Museum for a 45 minute guided tour of the flora/fauna/vulcanology areas of this world class museum followed by 30 minutes free time in the museum and a drive along Parnell Road through the historic suburb of Parnell.
