We are very excited to be holding our second Carnival after bringing it back last year from a 19 year lull.
The Carnival Team is headed up by myself (teacher and mother at Cockle Bay) and an amazingly dedicated group of 60 parents.
We are sticking with our theme for the Carnival - it is now a part of our culture. We really wanted the children to be part of planning for the Carnival, so when they brainstormed ideas last year of what they wanted to see at the Carnival, we looked for something in their brainstorm that would make us stand out from the rest… and it soon was apparent…. unicorn rides!
The whole Carnival revolves around the magic of the unicorn, the magic of being a kid and just having fun.

2015 - Where it all began
Did you say…… unicorn rides??
As soon as our magical theme around the Unicorn was confirmed, we needed the children for the next step: to draw the face of the new-look-logo. We wanted it to be joyous and magical - artwork that clearly was drawn by a child, not a computer.
The competition was fierce, so we just had to award runner-ups at assembly.

We had a competition to name our Carnival Mascot, Isla named her Pixie Dust. Pixie Dust was won in 2015 by the very lucky Yates Family.
Now in 2016 we are excited to announce Pixie Dust has a twin! Trixie Dust! I'm sure Trixie Dust will be squeeeezzzzed and loved as much as Pixie Dust was in the photos below:
